Vocaloid Producer SatapanP and Grimes Release a Song Featuring Hatsune Miku

Singer-songwriter Grimes and Vocaloid producer SatapanP have a new collaboration, featuring everyone's favourite virtual idol Hatsune Miku. Their new single "Miku-Maxxing" is now available on all major streaming platforms alongside a music video.

This release starts the introduction of Beyond Borders, a global movement to help branch Vocaloid culture into the wider world by connecting Western artists with Japanese Vocaloid producers, artists, and songwriters alike, creating a unique fusion of music. This initiative is spearheaded by leading Japanese IT and media company Dwango.

"Miku-Maxxing" is the first single from the collaborative EP EMERGE M♡DE MIKU, a project that will be bringing well-known Western artists such as Grimes, Odetari, George Clanton, Frost Children, slayr, and XIAMYA into collaboration with iconic Vocaloid producers including jon-YAKITORY, SatapanP, and picco.

The song is described as "breaking the boundaries in music, technology, and the perception of virtual singers in modern media to help influence the future of music." The setting takes place in a game-inspired "Cyberland," where our characters are faced with a collapsing digital world using low-poly visuals and unique animation.

New singles will be rolling out ahead of the complete EP being released in September.
