Let Me Fix You Anime Premiere Under Question Following Allegations Against Producer

#news #anime May 05, 2026

The Let Me Fix You anime will be delayed from the previously scheduled late May premiere date, following grooming allegations that have surfaced against the animation producer and the CEO of Buta Production animation studio, Federico Antonio Russo (FAR).

Animators who have been associated with the Buta Production have confirmed that they are no longer working with Russo and his studio, but that they are trying to band together and finish the projects they are involved with. The release of the Let Me Fix You anime has been postponed until further notice:

To everyone who was looking forward to "Kimi wo Tsumugu".
We, too, learned of the terrible news regarding the appalling behavior of an individual just a few hours ago.
And we, of course, wish to distance ourselves from it as well. Our sincere sympathy and thoughts are with the victim. Such behavior does not deserve a platform. We are truly heartbroken that you had to go through this.
None of the other people involved in the animation of “Kimi wo Tsumugu” were aware of this. The whole situation makes it difficult for us, as a lot of money, time, and effort have already been poured into this project—a project that was meant to be something big and go far beyond the scope currently announced.
Accordingly, we will need some time to discuss with all other people involved how and whether we can continue with this project. (Without "ButaPro" / FAR)

Author Kurihara commented:
The production team members are continuing to plan various things related to "Kimi o Tsumugu" and are working hard on them. I'm glad it didn't end up being canceled. I'm truly grateful for everyone's feelings of wanting to move forward with the production.

The Pixiv-published Let Me Fix You (Kimi wo Tsumugu) series by Sakura Kurihara has four chapters, published in 2021, and compiled into one volume. BluPetal licensed it in English and describes the plot as:

The story follows Tsumugi, a quiet, skilled seamstress who finds herself in the company of Chise—a girl who is not quite alive, yet not quite gone. As Tsumugi mends Chise’s physical form with careful stitches, a delicate bond forms between the living and the undead. It is a story about the labor of love, the beauty of the "broken," and the lengths we go to for the people who make us feel whole.
