As we prepare to embark on the last stop in our journey in Nod-Krai before we head to Snezhnaya, Hoyoverse brings the final special program for Genshin Impact's "Song of the Welkin Moon" arc. Luna VIII update, "Sunny Summer Fontinalia," will be released on July 1st, bringing the conclusion to the Nod-Krai chapter. With it comes the long-awaited reunion with Sandrone, a permanent new area, and a small teaser for what's to come after.

In this version, Sandrone returns as a playable 5-star Cryo Claymore character. Earlier in the story, Sandrone assisted the Traveler in a fierce battle with The Doctor that ultimately culminated in her valiant sacrifice to ensure his defeat. And now that she has returned, the truth behind her resurrection is set to be revealed.

Sandrone brings with her a brand new reaction, Stellar Super Conduct. Similar to Lunar reactions, it has a special way of triggering. Certain Cryo and Electro characters can briefly convert the surrounding area into a Polestar Field. This field can store excess Cryo and Electro energy and convert it into buffs, increasing the Stellar-Conduct DMG, as well as Cryo DMG and Electro DMG dealt by all characters within its range, while also reducing opponents' Physical RES. Certain existing Cryo and Electro characters also gain special enhancements while inside this field.

While in combat, Sandrone commands the android Fagio to fire beams of energy using her Charged Attack, dealing Stellar Super Conduct damage. This attack can lead to the autonomous construct to overload as it accumulates Decoding Power. Sandrone can reduce the Decoding Power build-up using her Elemental Skill, which allows her to mount a hoverboard and navigate the battlefield with ease. Sadly, Pulonia did not make it into Sandrone's playable kit, but we will find out what happened to him.

Travelers will embark on a journey further than they've ever been from Teyvat as they'll board their spacecraft and make their way to the moon, home to many breathtaking views and many hidden secrets involving the ancient dragon race. The update will bring a new, fully-voiced World Quest.

When they're done with their extraterrestrial trip, Travelers will have a fun vacation waiting for them back in Teyvat, as the Fontinalia Film Festival sets sail aboard the Wingalet in Fontaine. Alongside Sandrone and Columbina, they can help manage the ship's aquarium and attract visitors to join the festivities. During the festival, they will also meet plenty of familiar faces, including Charlotte and Citlali, who will greet the traveler with their new outfits. This quest is the traditional "summer event" of Genshin Impact, but just like last year, it will be a permanent addition to the game.

Several friends of the Travelers will be receiving Witch's Revelations from the Hexenzirkel Witch Barbeloth regarding their fates, and alongside it, they will be getting an enhancement relating to the new Stellar-Conduct reaction. These benefits will be available to Qiqi, Mizuki, Yae, Wriothesley, Cyno Beidou, and Diona during the Fontinalia Film Festival quest. By taking part in the event, travelers will be able to invite Charlotte to their party and obtain her new outfit for free. In addition, Citlali's new outfit will be available for purchase at a limited-time discount.

Sandrone will make her debut in the first half of the Version Luna VIII Character Event Wishes alongside Citlali's rerun, while the second half will feature the return of Columbina and Raiden Shogun. Alongside them, characters receiving the Witch's Revelation will be featured on a special limited-time banner.
