Zenless Zone Zero held its final livestream of season two, introducing the prologue for its next chapter, which will take place in the new mysterious area, Sky Island Roscaelifer. Guided by Agent Velina, the Administrative Director of the External Strategy Department (ESD) in Roscaelifer, the proxies will be seeking treatment for their ether energy condition, which gets swept up in the slowly building catastrophe that threatens the region, but will also discover the new power inside them, taking the form of Pyrois.

Pyrois will finally allow the proxies to personally enter the battle. As an Ether Attack Agent, they offer a unique gameplay style that allows them to choose one from four different Ultimates, each providing different buffs to themselves or deal massive bursts of damage to the enemy. This diversity of options will allow the proxies many synergies with new and existing units that will be rewarding to learn and master for every proxy as Pyrois, alongside their mindscapes, signature W-Engine, and season 3 themed outfits for the proxies. They will be available for free permanently as a reward for progressing in the story.

Pyrois

As the Administrative Director of the ESD, Velina will be joining the playable character roster as a limited S-Rank Anomaly Agent and the first Wind attribute unit in Zenless Zone Zero. Wind Anomaly was introduced during the 2.8 update and causes enemies applied with it to enter the Windswept state. When Windswept and another Attribute Anomaly are simultaneously applied to a target, a unique Vortex effect is triggered, dealing AoE damage of the other corresponding attribute to surrounding enemies. Velina enables the team by building up the Wind Anomaly, and while the team has two or more Anomaly agents, her own Windswept and Vortex damage will significantly increase. Velina serves as an introduction to the potential of the wind element and will likely be a mainstay in future Wind teams moving forward.

Another ESD member will be entering the fray, S-Rank Fire attribute
Stun Norma is the ESD's Chief Technician and a core member of the Marcel Group's technological center, and is always ready for battle, armed with plenty of weapons and missiles to attack the enemies with, allowing her to deal massive amounts of damage and daze to her targets. During the battle, she accumulates her special resource over time, and with a sufficient amount, she can convert her teammates' Quick Assists into Chain Attacks, helping her teammates deal damage and generate a lot more Decibels, which will help many Agents, including Pyrois.

Lastly, the last new face being introduced in the new update will be the new S-Rank Bangboo Ultra Jake. It comes with its own set of built-in weapons and missiles it will barrage the enemies with, dealing damage and building fire anomaly on its targets.

Phase one will feature Velina alongside the first rerun for the Void Hunter agent Ye Shunguang. Following them, Norma will be featured in the second half of the update alongside the rerun for AOD idol Sunna, which new players pulling for Ye Shunguang will want to consider getting alongside her. Velina will also be receiving a new outfit to commemorate her release that will be available as a paid reward.

Version 3.0 introduces two new permanent gameplay modes, the first of which is "Bangbang! The Genius and the Miracle Chip," in which Proxies will be able to raise and command Bangboo squads to complete chip research and repair missions. The second game mode is Annihilation Simulacrum, which launches as a new battle mode centered on high-difficulty Boss challenges with no elemental weaknesses or resistances, using Agents at a preset enhancement and investment level, placing full emphasis on mechanical understanding of both the agents and the bosses for Proxies willing to take up the new challenge.

And finally, with the release of Version 3.0 Zenless Zone Zero will be launching on Steam on June 17th, and to celebrate the release of a new season, alongside Pyrois the proxies can look forward to plenty more rewards including 1,600 Polychromes will be gifted to all Proxies as special Season 3 launch rewards, alongside the usual 10 Encrypted Master Tape and Boopon that are given during the release of a new update. Proxies can also look forward to plenty of quality of life improvements, including the Drive Disc Smart discard function that allows you to process unwanted Drive Discs in batches, the ability to mix the Proxy's accessories with all outfits, and many more.
