Dark Gathering Season 2 Confirms 2027 Premiere
Season 2 of the Dark Gathering anime announced a 2027 premiere date and revealed the first "horror" visual. OLM is returning to animate the sequel with Hiroshi Ikehata as the director.
Shigeru Murakoshi is in charge of the series composition and Yuri Ichinose is doing the character designs.
The first season of the anime aired in Summer 2023. It was animated by OLM (Team Masuda) and also directed by Ikehata Hiroshi. The sequel was announced in October 2025.
The cast includes:
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Keitarou Gentouga
- Kana Hanazawa as Eiko Houzuki
- Yuu Sasahara as Yayoi Houzuki
- Rina Kawaguchi as Ai Kamiyo
The anime is based on a manga written and illustrated by Kenichi Kondo. The manga has been serialized since 2019 in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine.
HIDIVE is streaming the anime and describes the plot:
A horrific encounter with a restless spirit traumatized Keitaro Gentoga to the point of becoming a shut-in to avoid further disasters. But no man is a haunted island, and he eventually rejoins society by taking a part-time job tutoring the child prodigy Yayoi Houzuki. Yayoi isn’t just a genius, though. She’s a gifted medium hell-bent on finding the malevolent spirit behind her mother’s vanishing. And she’s gravely determined to drag Keitaro into her terrifying and grotesque supernatural world.
