Genshin Impact Teases Snezhnaya Release Date

After nearly six years, Genshin Impact players finally know the date they'll be able to set foot in Snezhnaya: August 12, 2026. The information was revealed during a special stream, titled "To Snezhnaya and the Future," during which the developer team shared some behind-the-scenes concepts and ideas.

The new region will introduce the Cryo Archon, Tsaritsa, and reveal her agenda and the fate of the Gnoses she has collected so far with her loyal Fatui followers. As players correctly assumed, Snezhnaya will feature elements inspired by Slavic culture, mainly the folk music, as well as classic symphonic traditions and trains. Trains have previously been mentioned in-game through various dialogue options.

Additionally, the new region introduces an evolving combat style and new game mechanics centered around Cryo as a means of preservation, hinting at also preserving memories.

With the August 12 release date for Snezhnaya, Genshin Impact will seemingly "shorten" the duration of the Nod-Krai patch. Nod-Krai versions use the Luna numbering system instead of 6.0 to preserve the continuity.

The game is currently on its Luna VI version update, titled "Augured Homecoming."
