Yona of the Dawn Anime Sequel Announced
The Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona) anime sequel was announced today after the final chapter of the manga was released in Hana to Yume magazine. The sequel announcement comes 10 years after the first season premiered.

An anime adaptation by studio Pierrot debuted in 2014. The first season consisted of 24 episodes and was followed by an OVA unaired episode in 2015 and a two-episode OVA special covering the "Zeno Arc" in 2016.
Yona of the Dawn manga, written and illustrated by Mizuho Kusanagi, began serialization in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine in 2009. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English.

Currently, Hiryuu Palace has no one else next in line for the throne other than the fifteen-year-old princess, Yona, who had been raised with care. Finally, the night of her sixteenth birthday arrives. She expects it to be a wonderful day spent with her peace-loving father, Il, her servant and friend Hak, and her cousin Soo-won, who she had feelings for... However... That night, Yona goes to visit her father to tell him how she really feels, because he opposes to her getting married to Soo-won. However, when she gets to her room, she encounters a shocking truth.
