Yaiba: Samurai Legend Reveals Teaser Visual for Season 2
The YAIBA: Samurai Legend anime series revealed a teaser visual for Season 2 at the AnimeJapan 2026 Shopro booth stage event. WIT Studio is returning to animate the sequel. Further details were not revealed.
The second season, which was announced last fall following the finale of the first season, will cover the "Kaguya Arc." The staff for the first season included:
- Director: Takahiro Hasui
- Series Composition: Touko Machida
- Character Designer and Chief Animation Director: Yoshimichi Kameda
- Music: Yoshiaki Dewa, Yutaka Yamada
The opening theme songs were "Blade" by Blue Encount as the opening, and "Pineapple Tart" (by Otoha) and "Action!" (by Yagi Kairi - Den`on Yuugi) as the endings. The main cast consisted of:
- Minami Takayama as Kurogane Yaiba
- Manaka Iwami as Mine Sayaka
- Takeharu Oonishi as Gerota Gerozaemon
- Isshin Chiba as Kagetora
- Shuuhei Sakaguchi as Kumo Otoko
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Kurogane Kenjuurou
- Kimiko Saitou as Mine Fuji
- Atsushi Miyauchi as Mine Raizou
- Rina Satou as Mine Shizuka
- Jun’ichi Suwabe as Miyamoto Musashi
The anime re-adapts the Yaiba manga, written by Gosho Aoyama from 1988 to 1994. The first anime adaptation of the work premiered in 1993 and was animated by Pastel.
Netflix is streaming the anime in select regions.
