Within the Villainess Anime Reveals Teaser Trailer and Visual
Within the Villainess has released its first teaser trailer, visual, and a 2027 premiere date. The teaser trailer also revealed that Rie Takahashi will voice Emi Kobayashi and Miyuki Sawashiro will voice Remilia Rose Graupner. Studio ROLL2 is animating.
The teaser visual features Remilia holding a single red rose with imagery resembling shattered mirrors that evoke the story’s themes.
KADOKAWA describes the plot:
After losing her life in an accident, Emi is reincarnated as a young noble girl named Remilia Rose Graupner. Remilia is the most feared villainess in a certain otome game, and Emi’s beloved “fave”.
Moved by the loneliness that once left the original Remilia with nothing but resentment toward the world, Emi resolves to make her happy with her own hands. Through tireless effort and her natural kindness, she gradually brings to those around her.
However, the game’s “original” heroine will not allow it.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t make you happy… Remilia… -tan…”
Betrayed by those she trusted and unable to escape the game’s inevitable condemnation event, Emi—within Remilia—loses consciousness in the depths of despair.
But at that moment—.
“I will never forgive you.”
Rising with a quiet fury is Remilia, who has regained control of her body for the first time in 11 years.
Having first learned the meaning of “love” through Emi’s kindness and having watched Emi struggle tirelessly for her sake, Remilia now vows revenge against those who hurt her.
The curtain rises on a fierce and elegant revenge drama, led by the "true" villainess herself.

Yoshihisa Iida (BULLBUSTER episode director) will serve as director in his first role as a series director. Reiko Nagasawa (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) is the character designer, while Hiroyuki Yoshino (Black Butler -Public School Arc-, Macross Frontier) will handle series composition and scripts.
Commemorative illustrations from the original illustrator, Mai Murasaki, and the manga artist, Nazuna Shiraume, celebrating the anime adaptation have also been released.

Within the Villainess (Akuyaku Reijo no Naka no Hito) is a light novel written by Makiburo and illustrated by Mai Murasaki in 2021. The manga adaptation by Nazuna Shiraume began publication in Japan in 2022 and concluded in May 2025. The series has ranked in numerous web manga awards. As of March 2026, the series has over 4 million copies in circulation.
