Turkey: Time to Strike Anime Reveals Surprising Time-Travel Plot Twist With Premiere
The Turkey! Time to Strike original anime premiered earlier today revealing a surprise twist: instead of a bowling club setting, the story is actually a time-travel saga set in the Sengoku period. A new key visual and trailer have been revealed.

Tatsunoko Production is animating the original anime, created by Brakken Record and Pony Canyon. Brakken Record is a registered trademark and label name of Tatsunoko.
Joining the cast as the five members of the Tokura family are:
- Noriko Hidaka as Sumomo
- Yuko Minaguchi as Akebi
- Kikuko Inoue as Suguri
- Miki Ito as Anzu
- Rei Sakuma as Natsume
I never imagined I’d get to play a princess from the Sengoku Era!
And to top it off, I got to voice one of the sisters alongside close friends from my generation, which made the recording sessions a lot of fun. I’d be so happy if viewers could watch over the princesses and the modern-day high school girls as they grow and connect with one another.
- Noriko Hidaka
I’ve been so excited for Turkey! to finally begin airing.
Their story is so bright and heartfelt—I truly hope many people will follow it through.
I feel incredibly lucky and happy to be part of this project as Akebi.
- Yuko Minaguchi
It’s an honor to play Suguri, a brave and noble character who wields a sword.
The story is full of unexpected twists, emotional depth, and the kind of bonds that transcend time—it moved me so many times! It’s such a wonderful series, and I hope you’ll stay with it until the very end.
- Kikuko Inoue
I’m so glad I got to be part of such a beautiful story.
It’s a tale that’s a little ticklish, a little bittersweet, a little exciting, and a little anxious—all wrapped up in the warmth of summer’s end.
Please enjoy all the ups and downs of these charming girls and their journey!
- Miki Ito
The story goes far beyond anything I imagined, and I think you’ll find yourself more and more drawn in with each episode. Watching the girls face themselves head-on and grow stronger without running away was incredibly refreshing. They reminded me just how powerful it is to believe—in yourself and in others.
- Rei Sakuma
Susumu Kudo (Momentary Lily, Joran: The Princess of Snow and Blood) is directing the anime, while Airi Takegawa is in charge of the character designs. Naomi Hiruta is writing the scripts. The previously announced main cast includes:
- Hana Hishikawa as Mai Otonashi
- Kana Ichinose as Rina Godai
- Haruki Iwata as Sayuri Ichinose
- Yuki Tenma as Nozomi Mitaka
- Ayasa Ito as Nanase Nikaido
Crunchyroll is streaming the series as part of its Summer 2025 lineup.
