The Trailblaze Continues in Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 Releasing July 15

Facing one of their fiercest battles yet, the Astral Express crew continues the story of Planarcadia in Honkai: Star Rail's Version 4.4, "In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound, launching on July 15. This version will introduce a new path for our treasured navigator Himeko as she takes on the new form Himeko • Nova. Her banner will run throughout the whole of the 4.4 patch. The second phase of the Grail War kicks off in this version, with the official introduction of Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh and a new special chapter for players to follow.

After Himeko's disappearance at the end of the previous version, the crew began their search to locate their valued navigator, deciphering the clues to track her down. Until the time is right, the trailblazer will have to face Asat Pramad to bring peace to Planarcadia, if it survives the fight.

Himiko's new form, Himeko • Nova, is keeping to her Path of Erudition and Fire combat type. Beginning the battle, she sets down her Territory and summons her mech "Starblazer" to attack enemies on the field. Whilst using this "Territory," all teammates will gain the Assist Skill to allow them to summon "Starblazer" at any time to attack all enemies. Building up to her Ultimate, where she will guide her teammates to pilot "Starblazer." Special effects will also be introduced for characters who are members of the Astral Express.

Version 4.4 sees the return of Sparxie, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, and Evernight during the first half of the patch, followed by Cerydra, Anaxa, and Aventurine on the warp banners in the second half. There will also be a new outfit for limited character Sparxie, "Candy-Coated Waves", as well as a new pet, "Pentaflavor Emoti," and a new trailblazer headwear item, "Fan-made Lygus".

The Holy Grail War Returns

We're entering the next phase of the Holy Grail war after Rin Tohsaka stumbles across into another world and falls into Plancarcadia, borrowing a display copy of the Holy Grail in an attempt to summon a new servant to help her leave the world. In restoring the power to the Holy Grail, she summons Gilgamesh's treasures that ends up being scattered across the land. In hopes of gathering the treasures, players will team up with Rin to collect the secrets hidden amongst the lost items in the next part of the Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration. This chapter in the collaboration will launch on July 24.

Alongside the new chapter introduction, both Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh join the playable characters running on the special event banners long-term. Rin is a 5-star Quantum character following the Path of Erudition, building up "Gem energy" to deal additional instances of DMG to enemies. This "Gem Energy" can also be obtained when teammates consume or use skill points in battle.

Gilgamesh brings his destructive power to the playing field as a 5-star Lightning character, who follows the Path of Destruction. Once the fight begins, when an ally takes action, it will help build "Interest" for Gilgamesh, which helps increase the DMG of his ultimate. Once players reach his "Interest" limit, it will unlock his skill, releasing his iconic Gate of Babylon to fire weapons. His ultimate summons Enuma Elish, his legendary phantasm, that'll deal AOE damage across all enemies on the battlefield.

Trailblazers will be able to claim either Gilgamesh or Archer as a free, limited 5-star character throughout the event period. Both the characters and light cones have been announced to be available long term, along with the ability to be able to claim a limited 5-star collaboration light cone if players have spent a total of 200 limited wishes (special passes).

Version 4.4 Events

As well as the Holy Grail war event launching during this patch, there will be a new event featuring Adventurine called "Antigraft Brickbuster". The trailblazer accepts a request from the infamous IPC member, which causes the need for further investigation into the corrupt organisation through stacking Databricks. Expansions for "Currency Wars; Zero-Sum Game" will be updated during this version in hopes of better optimisation and user experience.

Honkai: Star Rail is a space fantasy turn-based combat RPG title by HoYoverse that follows the Trailblazer's journey through immense worlds of the unknown.
