The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes Movie Unveils Trailer, 2027 Debut
The Eminence in Shadow: Lost Echoes movie revealed a new trailer, teaser visual, and a 2027 premiere date for Japan.
The cast is returning and includes:
- Seiichiro Yamashita as Cid Kagenou / Shadow
- Yui Horie as Akane Nishino
- Yukari Tamura as Yuka Asakura
- Inori Minase as Akane Nishino
- Takehito Koyasu as Modred
Studio Nexus is returning to animate with Kazuya Nakanishi as the director, Kanichi Kato on screenplay, and Makoto Iino on character designs.
The Lost Echoes is a sequel to the second season of The Eminence in Shadow anime, which aired in 2023. The first season debuted in Fall 2022 and aired throughout the Winter 2023 anime season. Studio Nexus animated both.
The Eminence in Shadow anime is based on a light novel series written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Tozaki. The series started out as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro before getting picked up by Enterbrain and serialized. A manga adaptation with art by Anri Sakano is currently ongoing in Kadokawa's Comp Ace magazine.
HIDIVE is streaming the anime and describes the plot as follows:
Cid doesn’t want to be a flashy hero or a dastardly villain. He wants to operate in the shadows and pull the strings of society with wit and cleverness. So when he’s isekai’d to another world, he spins a yarn or three and becomes the unlikely leader of the underground Shadow Garden organization that fights against a menacing cult, which he totally made up. Except he didn’t; not exactly. Little does he know the cult is real, and they’re not happy that his power fantasy just impeded their plans!
