Sword Art Online: Integral Domain Original Movie Set for 2028 Premiere

The Sword Art Online anime series announced a new original movie, titled Sword Art Online: Integral Domain and slated to premiere in 2028. A-1 Pictures is animating the movie under its Psyde Kick label.

Shingo Adachi, who did the character designs for Sword Art Online TV anime and had his directorial debut with Lycoris Recoil original anime, will be directing the Integral Domain movie. Yumiko Yamamoto (Yohane the Parhelion: Sunshine in the Mirror) is doing the character designs. ANIMEC is in charge of distribution.

This movie was announced in November 2022. The production was confirmed in 2024, and new information was teased this April.

Sword Art Online is a light novel series by Reki Kawahara that started in 2009. It spawned multiple TV anime adaptations, movies, manga, light novels, and games.

The anime adaptation by A-1 Pictures debuted in 2012. The main series has three seasons (including the Alicization), and over the years, it has been expanded with the Progressive movie series and a spin-off series, Gun Gale Online.
