Studio Khara Releases Evangelion 30th Anniversary Short Film
Studio Khara has released the special Evangelion anniversary anime short film, titled "Evangelion 30th Anniversary Special Screening," on their official YouTube channel. The release was made in celebration of March 8, the date that marks exactly five years since the theatrical release of “EVANGELION:3.0+1.0 THRICE UPON A TIME”,
The 14-minute animation feature, featuring Asuka, was previously shown exclusively during the anniversary event in February 2026.
The post was shared on their official X account, encouraging fans of the series to support the official YouTube channel. Additionally, the staff are making every effort to prevent further spread of illegally recorded and leaked footage from the 30th anniversary festival “EVANGELION:30+ ; ”

Neon Genesis Evangelion is an original anime series created by Gainax and directed by Hideaki Anno. Gainax and Tatsunoko Production animated the original series, which debuted in October 1995 and ended in March 1996.
In 1997, Gainax released The End of Evangelion, meant as an alternative ending. The franchise also has a series of four films produced by Anno's khara, titled Rebuild of Evangelion, retelling the events of the series with different plot elements and a new ending. The final movie was titled EVANGELION: 3.0+1.01 THRICE UPON A TIME and released in 2021.
A new Evangelion anime project by Khara and CloverWorks was announced in February 2026.
