Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You Reveals Trailer, Key Visual
The Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You anime revealed a new key visual and a trailer. The premiere date has been set for July 2026. The trailer shows off the ending theme song "Fiction" by imase:
Asahi Production is animating. The staff has also been revealed and includes:

Takuya Sato and Seena Hoshiki will be voicing Sasaki and Yamada.
The anime will adapt the Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You manga by Jinushi. The series initially started as a webcomic on Twitter/X and was later picked up by Square Enix and serialized in Monthly Big Gangan magazine. Since 2022, six volumes have been released. Square Enix Manga & Books is publishing the Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You (Super no Ura de Yani Su Futari) series in English and describes the plot:
At age forty-five, office worker Sasaki has had enough of the corporate grind. His only solace is smoking-and the friendly smile of supermarket cashier Yamada. When Sasaki can't find Yamada after a particularly trying day, a striking woman invites him to smoke with her. The despondent man thinks he's made a new smoking buddy in the cool, teasing Tayama, but Sasaki doesn't realize he already knows her!
