Summer 2025 Slice-of-Life Anime to Look Out For
Summer, pre-global warming, was a time of blue skies, beach visits, and late-night pub crawls. But, with constant forest fires, air pollution, and 117° weather, it became more of a "stay at home and binge-watch anime" type of vibe. What are we to do if endless blue skies and late-night restaurant runs call us? Well, we can cry ourselves to sleep and enjoy slice-of-life anime! Whether you want to live vicariously through girls that's looking for rocks or one who is getting her gourmet on—these are the summer 2025 slice-of-life titles you should check out.
Futari Solo Camp (Solo Camping for Two) — Go Touch Grass
I'm an advocate for the outdoors. I love the wild. Whether I'm fishing, hiking, camping, or getting stuck in caves, I enjoy every moment. It comes as no surprise that Laid-Back Camp (Yuru Camp) is my favorite anime. If the Futari Solo Camp (Solo Camping for Two) adaptation sticks to the manga, this adaptation will "cozily" take second place.
Adapting Yudai Debata’s manga, Futari Solo Camp centers on Gen Kinokura. A 34-year-old dude, Gen-san has long loved the outdoors, and when his father died, he found comfort in campfires, mountain views, and MSR tents that cost more than a small country's GDP. But when Gen's solo camping (or, as my mom calls it, anti-social behavior) is interrupted by a camping newbie named Shizuku, his solo excursions grow by one.
If you enjoyed Yuru Camp but wish it had an adult cast and more emotional moments, then this adaptation by SynergySP should be perfect for you.
The anime cast Daiki Hamano (Noor in I Parry Everything)as Gen Kinokura and Mizuki Niizaki (first major role) as Shizuku Kusano. Solo Camping for Two is scheduled for a July 11 premiere.

Ruri no Houseki (Ruri Rocks) — Look at That Rock!
Have you dreamed about finding buried treasure and living a comfy life with your newfound fortune? Mineralogy is like that, except if you find something valuable, the government will beat you with paperwork.
Based on Keiichirou Shibuya’s manga, Ruri no Houseki (Ruri Rocks or Introduction to Mineralogy) follows Ruri Tanigawa. While most girls who obsess over jewelry and accessories turn to Shein or thrift stores, Ruri decides to collect minerals and gems at their source. When she realized that you can find stones of equal beauty in the wild, she embraced mineral hunting with zeal.
You may think that a story about a girl collecting minerals would be dull, but it's important to note that this can be an addictive and lucrative (with the right permits) hobby. I once found a chunk of Mexican fire opal that puffed up my bank account really nicely.
Though a quick warning to anyone who picks up mineral hunting, depending on where you live, you'll need permits, and some stuff is taxed. Likewise, plenty of shiny-looking rocks will make you sick, and some can kill you. Studio Bind
Ruri no Houseki has a July 6 air date. Studio Bind will animate the adaptation.

Tsuihousha Shokudou e Youkoso! (Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant!) — Please the Foodie in You
What’s a man to do when his career and friendships fall apart? If you said anything besides start a restaurant frequented by clientele of questionable background and age, you're living life wrong. Fortunately for anyone missing frequent restaurant visits, that's exactly what Dennis from Tsuihousha Shokudou e Youkoso! does.
After getting thrown out of his party like spoiled tofu, Dennis decided that the only path worth following in life was a culinary one. With the help of an enslaved noble (how original), he moves to the boonies and starts his own diner. Soon, his diner becomes a mythical place. Stories are told of all-you-can-eat foie gras, black Perigord truffle, and Iberian ham sandwiches. But how will his newfound success and dubious patrons affect his life? Check out Tsuihousha Shokudou e Youkoso! when it premieres on July 3.
Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant! will adapt the novel by Yuuki Kimikawa and Gaou (art). OLM will handle the animation.

P.S. I know someone's gonna "this isn't tagged as a slice-of-life" (bet you read that in an irritated weeb voice). Well, neither is Campfire Cooking in Another World, but given its day-to-day comfy plot, it's, ipso facto, a slice-of-life.
What Will You Be Watching?
The summer 2025 anime season is packed! God-tier shows like Call of the Night and Rent-a-Girlfriend are coming back, and of course, that is exciting but the whole purpose of this list is to sell you on the slower-paced ones.
