RuriDragon TV Anime by KyoAni Announced
The RuriDragon manga is getting a TV anime adaptation by Kyoto Animation. The information was revealed during KyoAni's 2025 recap video earlier today.
Masaoki Shindo's RuroDragon manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in June 2022. In April 2024, it moved to Shonen Jump+ online service following an 18-month-long hiatus. It was originally published as a one-shot manga in 2020 in Shueisha's Jump Giga magazine.
Four volumes have been published in Japan so far. VIZ Media is licensing the series in English and describes the plot:
Ruri Aoki awakens one morning to find a pair of horns growing from her head! It’s already hard enough trying to be a normal high school girl, so how the heck is she gonna figure out this crazy dragon stuff?
Well, a half dragon. Her mom admits Ruri inherited her draconic traits from her father, who, yes, is actually a dragon. As if dealing with curious classmates wasn’t already challenging enough, Ruri and her dragon genes literally turn up the heat in the middle of a lecture. Her ordinary life is about to be anything but!
This is KyoAni's second dragon-themed anime, the first being Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.
