Recap: One Piece Day 2025 Event Highlights
Japan's celebration of "ONE PIECE DAY '25" was held at the Tokyo Big Sight on August 9-10, in Tokyo. Bandai Namco Entertainment, Shueisha, and Toei Animation organized the event in honor of the original series' debut, featuring immersive exhibits, major celebrity appearances, live performances, and many more.
To recap, here are some of the exciting stage event highlights and photos from the ONE PIECE DAY '25 DAY celebration:
- On the main stage, Kappei Yamaguchi (Ussop's voice actor) connected via a Transponder snail to Iñaki Godoy, the live-action Monkey D. Luffy. During their conversation, Iñaki playfully mentioned in Japanese, “I’ve never been to ONE PIECE DAY before… I really want to go… You know what? I’m coming!” He later made a surprise appearance from the back of the audience, filling the hall with cheers from excited fans.
- The release of the first look of ONE PIECE Season 2: INTO THE GRAND LINE, which will be releasing on Netflix in 2026.
- In addition, it was revealed that Season 3 has been officially renewed.
- The voice cast of the EGGHEAD Arc delivered a live voice-over performance. Voice actors Akemi Okamura (Nami), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp), Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji), Ikue Ōtani (Tony Tony Chopper), Yuriko Yamaguchi (Nico Robin), Katsuhisa Hōki (Jinbe), and Reiko Takagi (Jewelry Bonney) also shared behind-the-scenes stories from their recording sessions.






- Voice actress Reiko Takagi (Jewelry Bonney) shared that she was already in tears from the first moment she first received the EGGHEARD Arc script.
- The announcement and key visual for the new anime adaptation of the popular novel ONE PIECE: HEROINES was officially unveiled.
- The annual ONE PIECE Knowledge King Battle "Paramount War," which usually takes place at the end of the year, was held during ONE PIECE DAY instead. Frontrunner Kyan, who was a multiple-time top finisher in past preliminaries, was officially crowned this year's champion, and he tearfully said: “I have no words. I truly love ONE PIECE, and I wanted more than anything to be No. 1.”
- Fans were also treated to a surprise screening of a brand-new anime called "ONE PIECE in LOVE: FESTIVAL EVE SPECIAL," adapted from Chapter 159, ONE PIECE DAY ’25 Experience, which had just been released on Shonen Jump+ on Thursday, August 7. Hiroshi Kitadani is also featured in this special and is his official debut as a voice actor. The special episode is available on the official ONE PIECE YouTube channel:
- Hiroshi Kitadani performed “UUUUUS!” and “ANGEL & DEVIL,” the opening theme of the EGGHEAD Arc. The original artist, GRe4N BOYZ, delivered a special message through a video saying that they were unable to join the celebration because they were on tour, so they asked Hiroshi Kitadani to perform on their behalf. Kitadani commented, “When I sang the lyric 'tenohira,' it really moved me.”
- More live performances included ending themes “The 1” by muque and “PUNKS” by CHAMELEON LIME WHOOPIEPIE.
- The grand finale featured Kitadani’s performances of “OVER THE TOP” and “ONE DAY.” As the excitement peaked, the EGGHEAD Arc voice actors, Iñaki Godoy, and all other stage guests joined together in a powerful group sing-along of “We Are!”
- During the finale, Iñaki Godoy said, “It was my first ONE PIECE DAY, and I’d love to come every year—keep enjoying ONE PIECE.”
- Lastly, a surprise video message from Mayumi Tanaka, the voice actress of Luffy, closed the show: “You all are my NAKAMA!!”




Meanwhile, the Exhibition Hall transported fans into the ONE PIECE universe through 3D displays and one-of-a-kind photo op experiences, including:
- At the venue entrance, guests were welcomed by a 7-meter-tall balloon of Prince Loki, a key character from the ongoing ELBAPH Arc. The balloon served as a gateway to the EPISODE OF ELBAPH Exhibit, where reproduced illustrations and 3D displays brought the story to life.
- The first ever special LEGO ONE PIECE showcase captures the world of the Netflix live-action series, featuring a brick-built recreations of iconic scenes from the show, along with an interactive fan mosaic activity. The video where Eiichiro Oda sees the LEGO ONE PIECE for the first time was also posted:
- An exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming product samples from the flagship store, ONE PIECE BASE SHOP, ahead of its opening this winter. The exhibit also had a space dedicated to CHOPPER’s, a project which imagines Chopper living alongside us in the real world.
- Other features included the Anime 3D Sound Theater experience of the Fish-man Island Saga, an immersive photo spot, greeting sessions with mascots of Luffy and Chopper, 4v4 interactive battles and life-sized panels from Bounty Rush, a venue-exclusive mission, a fanart wall, and a Gashapon Corner. A card game exhibit was also held in "Jumbo Size" in honor of Elbaph. Bandai, BANDAI SPIRITS, and MegaHouse also gathered to display new releases of their ONE PIECE products.



















ONE PIECE is a manga series by Eiichiro Oda that began its serialization in Shuiesha's Weekly Shonen Jump on July 22, 1997. To celebrate the day that it was serialized, the annual super-sized "ONE PIECE DAY" event is held by Bandai Co., Ltd., Shueisha's Inc., and Toei Animation Inc..
