OceanVeil to Stream Nukitashi Anime Adaptation

Studio Passione's Nukitashi anime adaptation will be streaming on the OceanVeil platform this summer. The anime premieres on July 18, and in Japan, it will be available in three versions:

• Seiran Island Version (minimal censorship; to be included on the Blu-ray version) - available on OceanVeil
• Streaming Version (moderately censored and available on most streaming platforms in Japan)
• Fully Regulated Version (suitable for TV broadcast, censored) - available on OceanVeil

The versions OceanVeil will be streaming will be uncut, uncensored, and unedited, and available worldwide. The first three episodes had an early screening in Japan on June 22.

As previously announced, Nobuyoshi Nagayama is directing the Nukitashi anime, with Kenta Ihara on the scripts and series composition. Naoto Kurahone and Yu Kamichika from Qruppo are supervising the script. Kumata is signing off on the character designs. Hakushaku Ebikare, Sasa Ikeki, Umigame, and Kashiko are composing the music. Hamedori-kun (Qruppo) is supervising. The anime cast includes:

• Kohei Yanagi as Asane Tachibana
• Minori Ozawa as Hinami Watarai
• Shizuka Ishigami as Nanase Katagiri
• Rie Okamoto as Misaki Hotori
• Ako Koaki as Asane Tachibana

The anime adapts the visual novel developed and published by Qruppo. The visual novel won Best Scenario, as well as Best New Brand, in 2018’s annual Moe Game Awards. The sequel also won a Grand Award in 2019. Shiravune published the visual novel in English in both censored and 18+ versions.

The visual novel was adapted into a manga by Mameojitan and serialized in the Ultra Jump magazine from 2020 to 2024.

Shiravune describes the plot of the Nukitashi visual novel as:

Seiran Island, a tropical eden where people are free to act on their desires under a uniquely libertine law. But even here in paradise, there are those who work in the shadows to bring it down… United, these misfits stand side by side as the secret society NLNS. As their founder and head honcho, I, Junnosuke Tachibana,won’t stop until we’ve crushed this crazy law once and for all! I’ve even found a benefactor in this crusty old rich guy, name unknown… He’s hooked us up with a secret base and a buttload of cash already. In return, he wants us to find someone and “protect her at all costs.” Apparently, she holds the key to our mission’s success…? In this case, there’s only one thing to do: locate this mystery girl. And all while keeping the SHO off our scent, too…
