My Hero Academia Anime to Adapt Epilogue Into a Special Episode in May 2026

The My Hero Academia anime announced a new anime special, adapting the epilogue from Volume 41. Chapter 431, "More", will have its anime debut on May 2, 2026.

The anime is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, with a new episode, a concert, and a special logo and visual, marking this occasion. The information was revealed during a Jump Festa 2026 event, attended by the main cast.

A special trailer for the final season of My Hero Academia was also revealed:

A teaser trailer and visual were revealed earlier this year at AnimeJapan. The final season will be the eighth season for My Hero Academia, completing the adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi's 42-volume manga series. The final season of the My Hero Academia anime will be animated by studio BONES, and the staff includes:

  • Chief Director: Kenji Nagasaki
  • Director: Naomi Nakayama
  • Series Composition: Yosuke Kuroda
  • Character Designer: Hitomi Odashima, Yoshihiko Umakoshi
  • Music: Yuki Hayashi

A spin-off series, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, premiered in April 2025, with a second season announced for 2026. Vigilantes is a spin-off manga written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court.

The manga is published in English by VIZ Media, with the final volume expected to be released on October 21, 2025. The publisher describes the main series as follows:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…
