The Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway was released on June 11, 2021, after three delays related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The movie, animated by the studio Sunrise, is a sequel to the Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative from 2018. It was directed by Shuko Murase with Yasuyuki Muto as the scriptwriter. Shigeki Kuhara, Naoyuki Onda, and Pablo Uchida signed off on the character designs. Hiroyuki Sawano composed the music. Murase is returning as the director for The Witch of Kirke, along with the other main staff. Studio Sunrise is once again credited for animation. The studio is now a part of Bandai Namco Filmworks, which is credited for production.
The cast includes:
- Kensho Ono as Hathaway Noa
- Reina Ueda as Gigi Andalucia
- Junichi Suwabe as Kenneth Sleg
- Soma Saito as Lane Aim
The movie is adapting Yoshiyuki Tomino's Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash three-volume novel series, published by Kadokawa under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint from February 1989 to April 1990. Moriki Yasuhiro did the suit designs, with Haruhiko Mikimoto, who was credited as character designer. The story is technically a sequel to Beltorchika's Children, which is the second and third novel of the Char's Counterattack series. Hathaway's Flash was also adapted to manga by Uroaki Sabishi.

Netflix is streaming the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway movie. The Gundam franchise recently concluded its latest TV anime, the GQuuuuuuX.
