Maomao and Luomen Appear in The Apothecary Diaries February Visual
The Apothecary Diaries revealed a special visual for February, featuring Maomao and Luomen looking at butterbur sprouts, a plant that evokes the warmth of spring. This visual is part of the monthly celebration of the 22nd day (Nekoneko Day) of each month and is themed around seasonal plants.

The Apothecary Diaries is a Japanese light novel series by author Natsu Hyuga and illustrator Toko Shino. It was adapted into manga twice; once by Itsuki Nanao (series composition) and Nekokurage (artist) in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan and once by Minoji Kurata in Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday Gene-X.
An anime adaptation was produced by Toho Animation Studio and OLM in 2023. The second season premiered in January 2025, while the third season and original film are expected to be released in 2026. Crunchyroll describes the plot of the anime:
Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
