Made in Abyss Anime Film Series Announced With 2026 Debut
The Made in Abyss anime is getting a sequel in the form of a film series. The first film will be released in 2026 and will be a sequel to the anime's second season. The film is titled Made in Abyss: Mezameru Shinpi (Awakening Mystery).
Kinema Citrus is returning to animate with Masayuki Kojima as the director. Hideyuki Kurata is doing the series composition. Kazuchika Kise and Yuka Kuroda are the character designers. The second season of the anime ended in January 2023 with a sequel announcement. At the time, the format was not specified.

The Made in Abyss anime cast is returning for the film series:
- Miyu Tomita as Riko
- Mariya Ise as Reg
- Shiori Izawa as Nanachi
- Misaki Kuno as Faputa
In addition to the film series announcement, Made in Abyss is also hosting its first-ever concert on February 8, 2026, in Nakano ZERO Large Hall. Kevin Penkin, who composed the music for the TV anime, will be conducting the performance, and Heartbeat Symphony is performing. Guest vocalists are Takeshi Saito ("Hanezeve Caradhina") and KIHOW from MYTH&ROID (theme song performance). The main cast (Miyu Tomita, Mariye Ise, and Shiori Izawa) will also be present.

The Made in Abyss manga by Akihito Tsukushi also released its 14th volume earlier today.
