KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops will be getting an all-new anime adaptation by Studio Gallop. The project will feature a new voice cast that will be announced in September 2026.

The KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops is a manga written and illustrated by Osamu Akimoto. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from 1976 to 2016. The manga got a special one-shot chapter in the following year, and in 2021, it was announced that the series would publish its 201st volume. Akimoto wrote the sequel manga, Ii Yu da ne!, serialized from 2017 to 2019 in Ultra Jump magazine.

In 1985, it was adapted into anime for the first time by Tatsunoko Production as a 30-minute film.

Studio Gallop produced the 1996 TV anime adaptation, which ran for over 300 episodes and eight years. The franchise also has two theatrical films from 1000 and 2003, a live-action adaptation, a stage play, and more.

Akimoto's Mr. Clice is also getting an adaptation next year.
