Killtube Unveils Trailer, Key Visual at Anime Expo 2025

The upcoming KILLTUBE theatrical anime revealed a "development" trailer, a key visual, and a 2026 completion date at Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles. Studio Dotou is animating.

Directed by Kazuaki Kuribayashi and backed by CHOCOLATE Inc., STUDIO DOTOU, VFX studio KASSEN, and Pony Canyon, KILLTUBE is an upcoming Edo-punk anime set in a dystopian 2026 where outcasts duel for fame and survival on a deadly live streaming platform.

The main cast features Yui Tsukada as Musashi, Kengo Kawanishi as Kikuchiyo, and Ayane Sakura as Leo. This is Tsukada's first voice acting role.

The project also launched the official KILLTUBE BACKERS’ STORE, where fans can support the development by buying official merchandise. Items available at launch are:

  • A one-of-a-kind poster featuring you within the world of the story
  • Your name in the credits
  • The right to appear in the main story

Plot is teased as:

In 2026, Japan continues its isolation under the Edo Shogunate. Amidst strict social hierarchies, three individuals, treated as scums of society, cross paths destined for a fateful encounter. They each join the duel streaming platform called “KILLTUBE” to pursue fortune and to win their freedom in a segregational world…
This battle entertainment follows three underdogs who defy public ridicule and rise to the top in a closed environment. The anime is envisioned as 3DCG-based and involves collaborations with cutting-edge VFX studio KASSEN and concept artist collective WACHAJACK.

The production team announced that it was planning "108 experiments across all aspects of production," and that it would publicly document 48 of those to "to foster collaboration with various industries, translating discoveries into real-time updates."
