Katamari Damacy to Open First-Ever Collaboration Café in Japan

The cult classic Katamari Damacy game is getting a limited-edition collaboration, due to open July 25 in Tokyo. The café will serve dishes and drinks inspired by the game. This event will be the first ever full-scale café collaboration for the game, which was originally developed by Namco. The café will be open until September 2 at Tokyo Parade Goods & Cafe in Shibuya Parco.

Katamari has earned its name as a cult classic by bringing colorful visuals and fun gameplay that fans have adored for 20 years. The objective of the game is to roll up objects that can be used for everyday purposes. The more your Katamari picks up, the bigger they grow, even recreating stars and constellations that had been destroyed by the "King of All Cosmos."

The original menu items will be based around the prince 'Ushikuma'(Cow-bear), and many other cute characters you find in the game. The menu will also include a special item: Miso's Miso Bowl. Miso is a character whose head is shaped like a bowl of miso soup. For each item that is ordered from this menu, visitors will also receive an event-exclusive coaster that will be given at random.
