Kaiju No. 8: The Game Officially Launches on Mobile Devices

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME has finally arrived after launching for mobile devices on August 31. Visitors at Anime Expo and Anime NYC were able to experience a demo with a first sneak peek in the interactive booths. Due to the large number of pre-registrations, players at launch will be able to obtain numerous rewards. The game is free with in-game purchases. In-game currency, Dimensional Crystals, is on sale on the official web store.

The game was officially released on mobile worldwide on Sunday, August 31, 2025, with PC (Steam) release coming at a later date. The game focuses on recreating an exhilarating world based on the original manga and anime, with unique 3D graphics. Fans have been waiting since the start to experience 'kaiju-slaying battles' as they strike kaiju to protect their world. Additionally, having special character interactions and ultimate animations allows players to experience these battles in a new light. This game also offers fans new original story lines with full voice acting, making the experience more immersive.

New Character Revealed

A new character is joining the battlefield: five-star character Reno Ichikawa joins the battle using 'identified Kaiju Weapon number 6,' a spoiler from episode 19 in the anime series. There is also a new feature weapon announced alongside this new character, the five-star AR-Boreas (Assault Rifle). These are scheduled to appear in future Pickup Gachas.

Different Story Routes to Explore

There are three different story modes to explore in the Kaiju No. 8 game. The main story has the core story of the game with appearances of new original game characters. Memories allows fans to relive iconic scenes from the anime and manga. Character stories are an original story mode that focuses on each member of the Defence Force. exploring relationships and interactions between team members. Each story you explore has its own uniqueness to it, allowing long-term and new fans to learn and enjoy the full experience.

Just like the anime and the manage, the has the player aiming to hit kaiju's 'core', hitting weak points, and activating follow-up attacks among battle buddies. With a team of four, you will use a variety of skills, attacks, and Ultimates to destroy the enemy.

Character Development opportunities

Fans are able to grow with their favourite characters through a variety of growth systems, such as enhancing attributes, skills, and upgrading their weapons. Collecting materials through quests and developing and strengthening your character along the way. Adding depth to both selection and developments, the developers have added in an equipment crafting system called “Unipart R&D” . This is where each crafted item has randomly generated stats, which can be your strength or even your downfall. You just need to find out for yourselves.
