Japan's Iconic Licca Dolls Debut in North America
TOMY Company's Licca dolls are coming to North America after becoming one of the most popular toys in Japan. The first collection in available as of late March 2026, and it features a number of dolls inspired by Japanese styles, but also by some of the most popular anime of today. Launching in 1967, the Licca doll line has sold over 69 million units and has become a cultural icon since its debut.

Regarding the Licca in North America launch, Akio Tomiyama (CEO of TOMY) has stated that:
“After the incredible reception we received at the New York Toy Fair® this past February, we are thrilled to finally bring her to our North American fans. This expansion is a key pillar of our growth strategy. We hope Licca-chan becomes a bridge for fans to experience and fall in love with Japanese KAWAII culture.”
The dolls are available in select stores such as BoxLunch, HOTTOPIC, MINISO, Animate Los Angeles/Animate USA and Gacha&Catch. Availability will be limited; however, the company has stated that more collections are set to be released if the launch is successful. TOMY has also mentioned that they will continue to be prominent at major conventions across the United States.
TOMY has also released a new global official website and international Instagram page for all fans to keep track of new dolls and updates.
