Japan Expo 2025 Reveals Impressive Guest Lineup
Japan Expo 2025 is taking place in Paris, France, from July 3-6, and the annual event revealed a stacked line-up of guests. This year's event takes place at the Paris Nord Villepinte.
Guests of honor for Japan Expo 2025 are the legendary mangaka Junji Ito and Disciples (REDICE STUDIO), responsible for the Solo Leveling webtoon's art. Fans of Ito's work will also be able to enjoy a special exhibit dedicated to his work and titled "Junji Ito, Nightmares & Obsessions."
Joining Ito and REDICE STUDIO are staff members from the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX anime: director Kazuya Tsurumaki, storyboard artist Mahiro Maeda, and scriptwriter Yoji Enokido. Tsurumaki and Maeda are also a part of The Evangelion 30th Anniversary Special Event, they will be attending a roundtable discussion to celebrate the franchise's milestone. Yoko Takahashi, singer of the iconic "Cruel Angel's Thesis," will also perform at the special event, which will be completed with a screening of the Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time movie.
Dragon Ball fans are also in for a treat: Kazuhiko Torishima, first editor of the iconic manga, is joining Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, chief director of Dragon Ball: Daima and a veteran animator for the franchise, and Toyotaro, artist of Dragon Ball: Super, for signing and drawing sessions. Actress Brigitte Lecordier, known for voicing several characters in the Dragon Ball's French dub, is also attending the event.
Manga artist Oh! great, known the manga adaptation of Bakemonogatari, is making a first appearance at Japan Expo since 2008 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Pika Edition publishing company.
Visitors of Japan Expo 2025 will also be able to enjoy numerous music performances by artists such as Mika Kobyashi, Noriko Tadano, Yukka, and many more. Fans of cosplay weren't forgotten either, with three contests cosplayers can enter:
- The Cosplay Show Japan Expo: Thursday, July 3
- The Cosplay Show Amazing: Friday, July 4
- French selections for the Extreme Cosplay Gathering Season 14: Sunday, July 6
