Hideaki Anno to Join Production I.G's Board of Directors
Hideaki Anno will be joining the Production I.G's board of directors on August 21, 2025. The news was announced by IG Port, Production I.G's parent company, and Anno's studio Khara.
Production I.G is a subsidiary of IG Port, which is also WIT Studio and Mag Garden's parent company. It was founded in 1987 as I.G Tatsunoko and later changed its name to Production I.G. The company formed IG Port in 2007 and formed a new subsidiary under the Production I.G name. Its current Chairman is Mitsuhisa Ishikawa, who is also one of the founders, while the CEO and President is George Wada.
Hideaki Anno is an animator and director known for his work on the Evangelion series, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, Shin Godzilla, and more. He is the founder and president of studio Khara, which recently announced a new Sugar Sugar Rune animated project. Anno was also one of the co-founders of the now defunct studio GAINAX.
In addition to Anno, NTT's Takashi Tanaka was also appointed to board of directors.
