Hatsune Miku and Tokyo National Museum Exhibition Heads to Anime Expo
Anime Expo 2025 added another exciting collab to its lineup: the one and only Hatsune Miku is teaming up with Frontier Works on an exhibition showcasing the collab between Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, and the cultural properties of Tokyo National Museum. Anime Expo, along with the exhibition, runs from July 3-6.
This collaboration is unique in a sense that it combines cultural properties from the Tokyo National Museum with modern technologies, showcasing both perspectives at once. Frontier Works will offer exclusive merchandise with Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, and Len, developed by Crypton Future Media, Inc., for a limited period in North America. Pre-orders for the made-to-order products will open on Monday, June 16, 2025 (Pacific Daylight Time), exclusively through the Animate USA Online Shop. Sample products for the pre-order items will also be exhibited at the Anime Expo venue.
The products for this collab will feature “Fuyuki Kosode Miku,” created as part of the Korin Kimono Restoration Project, inspired by the Important Cultural Property "Robe (Kosode) with Autumn Flowers" (commonly known as "Fuyuki Kosode"). Additionally, merchandise featuring “Beauty Looking Back Miku,” “Haniwa: Warrior in 'Keiko' Armor Miku,” and “Haniwa: Dancing People Rin & Len,” which are all part of the “Dancing Haniwa & Beauty Looking Back Conservation Project,” will also be available.
A portion of the sales will be donated to the Tokyo National Museum to help cover expenses related to the conservation of cultural properties.
