Hanamaruobake Pop-Up Continues in Select Loft Stores

Sanrio's mysterious ghost is continuing to appear in select LOFT stores across Japan. Each store will stock a limited line of merchandise featuring Hanamaruobake sporting cozy designs perfect for the winter period.

The pop-up initially began at the Ikebukuro LOFT back in November and has been showcased at numerous other locations, with this next selection to feature stores such as Umeda, Kawasaki, Moyuk Sapporo, Hiroshima, Senri Banpaku, Shizuoka PARCO, Sakae, Chiba, and more. Eight stores are set to open the pop-up on January 10t, 2025, with the remaining following a week later on January 17, each with varying end dates.

Since his debut in 2023, this friendly ghost has risen in popularity rapidly with a 12th-place finish in the Official Sanrio Popularity Ranking for 2025 alongside some collaborations with well-known brands such as fashion brand Maison de FLEUR in the previous year.

LOFT has also stated that if a customer purchases any of the items within the collection, they will be entitled to a small sticker gift, with those who have spend over 3,300 yen (approx. $20.88) receiving one of the shopper bags featuring the Pop-up's original art.
