Golden Kamuy anime is getting two prologue anime films this October, covering the Sapporo Beer Factory Arc. The movies premiere on October 10 and October 31 in Japan. The theme song will be “Ougon no Kanata” by Awich × ALI, and the teaser trailer and visual have been revealed.
The final, fifth season of the Golden Kamuy anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2026. The final season was announced in June 2023, following the finale of the fourth season. The fourth season of Golden Kamuy initially premiered in October 2022 but was postponed after the death of one of the staff members. Broadcast restarted in April of 2023.

Shizutaka Sugahara was listed as the chief director for Season 4 of the Golden Kamuy anime, while Noboru Takagi did the series composition. Takagi also worked on previous seasons of the anime. Takumi Yamakawa did the character designs. Toru Koga was listed as the art director, but in the rebroadcasted version he was replaced by Satoshi Fujimoto. Studio Brain's Base animated the season.
Golden Kamuy anime is based on a manga by Satoru Noda. The manga started serialization in Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2014 and ended in 2022. It has been compiled into 31 volumes. Geno Studio animated the first two seasons of the anime adaptation, which aired in 2018 and 2019. Season 3 was also animated by Geno and was broadcast in 2020.
Viz Media licensed the manga and describes the plot as:
In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto scratches out a meager existence during the postwar gold rush in the wilderness of Hokkaido. When he stumbles across a map to a fortune in hidden Ainu gold, he sets off on a treacherous quest to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only interested party, and everyone who knows about the gold will kill to possess it! Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skills and luck—and the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to survive.
In addition to the anime adaptation, the series also has a live-action movie series.
