#news #gaming January 02, 2026

Genshin Impact is bringing back its annual Lantern Rite festival alongside a continuation of the Nod-Krai storyline in the Luna IV version. Version Luna IV: "A Traveler on a Winter's Night" is set to launch on January 14.

Three new playable characters will be added:

  • Columbina: 5-star Hydro Catalyst wielder and the Moon Maiden, offering powerful support for Lunar Reactions
  • Zibai: 5-star Geo Sword wielder and the White Horse Adeptus, dealing Lunar-Crystallize DMG
  • Illuga: 4-star Geo Polearm wielder, a young and reliable Lightkeeper
Version Luna IV also introduces Lunar-Crystallize, a brand-new elemental reaction triggered when Geo meets Hydro under specific conditions. This reaction summons three Moondrifts near enemies, and after being triggered three times, it activates Moondrift Harmony, dealing Geo DMG to nearby foes with a chance to land CRIT Hits.

The first half of the update will welcome Columbina and feature Ineffa's rerun, while the second will see Neuvillette's return, as well as Zibai and Illuga. The annual Lantern Rite Liyue 4-star selector is also returning, and Yaoyao and Neuvilette are getting new skins. Traveler will get a makeover after the completion of the main quest.

The conclusion of the Nod-Krai quest and final battle with Il Dottore are also coming, in addition to the map expansion into the northern part of the region, where Piramida (the Lightkeepers' headquarters) lies. Dottore will become a Weekly Boss.

Miliastra Wonderland will introduce a brand-new Classic Mode, allowing players to invite select characters from Teyvat to join them on stage adventures. Additionally, players can support the Craftspeople by purchasing the Colorful Surprise Box, which unlocks extra gameplay experiences.

The Special Program also teased upcoming characters; Varka and Nicole are featured, alongside three other visible characters and a reflection of one.

After this version, players will have a more accessible interface that allows them to replay old quests. For more information, check out the Luna IV preview page or the stream:
