Genshin Impact Heads to Nod-Krai With "Luna I" Update on September 10

Genshin Impact held its traditional special program for the upcoming update, dubbed Luna I. The new update will introduce Nod-Krai, and to keep the original version numbering system, it will not use the 6.0.

The Nod-Krai update will welcome three new characters: Lauma, Flins, and Aino (who will be given out for free). Their banner order is as follows:

First Half: Lauma (Dendro 5-star), Nahida (Dendro 5-star)
Second Half: Flins (Electro 5-star), Yelan (Hydro 5-star), Aino (4-star)

As previously teased, the Nod-Krai update will center around Damselette of the Fatui Harbiners, Columbina, who was born in the region. The dev discussion during the special program teases that she left the Fatui to accomplish a goal related to the newborn moon and a Moon Goddess.

Characters' Story Quests and Hangouts will now be integrated into the Archon Quests and regular gameplay. This might not be a permanent change, but it will be present in Luna updates. Additionally, characters will now interact with their environment more: Lauma will get greeted by her tribe, animals will give her food, heal the party she is in, and help her with ore mining. Flins is able to understand the Wild Hunt language, and his lantern glows red when danger is close. NPCs also give out special items to certain characters.

The Nod-Krai region will also introduce a new mechanic, which harnesses the power of the moon fragments that once fell in the area. This mechanic is called "kuuvahki," and it powers most things in Nod-Krai, including the region's "Visions," known as Moon Wheels. These visions are different from the traditional ones because they draw the power from Teyvat's three moons. In addition to kuuvahki, the Travelers will also have access to special new companions, kuuhenki. Kuuhenki are reminiscent of seelies we previously met and assist with puzzles.

While Nod-Krai won't introduce a new element, it will introduce Lunar Reactions. These reactions require Nod-Krai characters in the party and are already partly present in the game with Ineffa (Lunar Charged).

Players will be able to visit Katheryne and check out the Valiant Chronicles, a local legend bounty system. Imaginarium Theater is also adding two new floors: beating them allows players to obtain Lunar Arcana collectibles, which can be traded.

Genshin Impact 5th anniversary rewards include:

10 x Intertwined Fate (including level-up materials)
1,600 primogems through in-game mail
Selectable 5-star character from the Standard Banner, this time including Yumemizuki Mizuki

Condensed Resin now includes 60 Original Resin, and players will also be able to claim domain rewards by using 40 Original Resin right away. The domain restrictions will be lifted for the first week after the update, and when you claim your free 5-star character, you'll get enough materials to raise them to level 60.

A new big change is that when you pull an extra copy of a 5-star character that you already have on Constellation 6, you get a Masterless Stella Fortuna. This item allows you to lift the level cap of any character you want by 5 levels, increasing their max level. Players will get a reward for the copies pulled before the update too. No Mora or levelling books will be required for this kind of levelling.

Genshin Impact is also adding a "To Temper Thyself and Journey Far" game mode, which will allow players to claim up to four extra Stella Fortunas (constellations) per year for certain 5-star characters they own. These can be obtained by completing 8 weekly training challenges.

Also, the Battle Pass will now offer harvestable rewards, and the hidden artifact substat will now be visible.

The special program was hosted by the dev team with an intermission from Ineffa's and Flins' voice actors. Ned Olson is voicing Flins in the English dub. Live symphony orchestra performance featuring the themes for Nod-krai was also included:

The Genshin Impact game is celebrating its 5th anniversary on September 28 with a new video. Dve team confirmed that Genshin Impact has been imagined as a long-running project since the beginning.
