Gachiakuta Reveals Trailer for Second Cour
The currently ongoing Gachiakuta anime adaptation revealed a new trailer ahead of the beginning of the second cour on Sunday, October 12. Mori Calliope is performing the new opening theme song, “LET’S JUST CRASH.” The anime, which premiered in July, will have a total of 24 episodes.
Studio BONES is animating the highly anticipated adaptation. The staff includes:

The anime premiered on July 6 and is streaming on Crunchyroll. The main cast includes:

- Yumiri Hanamori / Katie Caruso as Riyo

Gachiakuta is based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kei Urana, with Ando Hideyoshi’s graffiti designs. The manga began serialization in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2022. Kodansha US is serializing it in English. The English license was teased in 2022 and began in January 2024.
Kodansha describes the plot as:
Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the poor scrape by under the shadow of the rich who live a sumptuous life, simply casting their garbage off the side, into the abyss. Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment—exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash. Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters, and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!
