From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Season 2 Reveals New Trailer
The previously announced Season 2 of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman anime revealed a second trailer. The anime is slated to return in July 2026. The trailer was revealed at NBCUniversal's AnimeJapan 2026 stream.
Studio Passione and Hayabusa Film animated the first season of the series with Akio Kazumi as the director. Kunihiko Okada was in charge of the series composition, and Satsuki Hayakasa did the character designs. Yasuharu Takanashi composed the music. The same main staff is returning for the second season.
The anime is streaming on Amazon Prime, which describes the plot:
Beryl Gardenant, a middle-aged swordsman running a dojo in the backwaters, lives a quiet life, until Allucia, former student and Commander of the Royal Order of Knights, appears! Beryl’s life is about to change dramatically! City life. Old students. New friends and formidable foes. It’s all too much. But after years of training, he has mad skills, and he’s been dubbed “the backwater swordmaster.”
The anime adapts the From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman: My Hotshot Disciples Are All Grown Up Now, and They Won’t Leave Me Alone written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima. A manga adaptation by Kazuki Sato is also currently ongoing.
