France Takes Home the Grand Award at Extreme Cosplay Season 13 at Japan Expo
Season 13 of the Extreme Cosplay Gathering concluded at Japan Expo 2025 in Paris on July 5 with Poland taking the grand prize. Corneline cosplayed as Galadriel from The Lord of the Rings series and put on a performance worth remembering.
The Netherlands came in second with Linkelizzy and Fissagod, who cosplayed as Aang and Kyosi from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Switzerland completed the top three with Gen, Rinn, and Asura, who did a group cosplay of Rurouni Kenshin characters.
- Best Costume: Germany (Symphonia and Daiyame as Kena and Ruso from Kena: Bridge of Spirits)
- Best Wig: Denmark (Amalia, Tinyasuo and Luciotic as group from The Dragon Prince)
- Audience Favorite: Poland (Talon and Bish as characters from Darkest Dungeon)
- Alumni Prize: Poland
Members of the jury included CutiePieSensei, Spicy Thai Design, Vye, Yugoro, and Yuji Koi. Members of the audience were asked to vote for their favorites via a QR code given out at the venue (Ichigo Hall). A total of 19 countries participated in the Extreme Cosplay Gathering Season 13 finale.
Among the countries participating for the first time were Costa Rica and Bulgaria. It was announced that Australia will be making a comeback to the contest in 2026, while Lithuania and Morocco will be debuting.
