Fate Rewinder Announces Anime by Studio Bones
Fate Rewinder manga series is getting a TV anime adaptation by Bones Film. Rie Matsumoto (Pokémon Special Music Video "Gotcha") is directing the series. Teaser video and visual featuring Chrono have been revealed.
The anime will adapt the Fate Rewinder (Unmei no Makimodo-Shi) manga series written and illustrated by Kimura Futa. The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Corocoro Comic magazine since 2022. So far it hasn't been licensed to English. Original author Kimura Futa commented on the adaptation:
Rewinder is going to be a TV anime! And with an unbelievably impressive cast! This is the happiest moment of my life!! I've been able to get this far thanks to everyone at the CoroCoro editorial team, including my editor Waki-san, my assistants, the Rewinder YouTubers, my family, and all the CoroCoro readers who have supported Rewinder! Thank you!! I'm looking forward to the day you can see Chrono running around trying to save someone on TV!
Director Matsumoto, who is returning to the world of TV anime after almost a decade, said that Fate Rewinder is a story about saving people and highlighted Chrono's dedication and perseverance. "No matter what the reason, he will never allow someone's future to be taken away for the convenience of others."
The plot follows Space-Time Police Special Forces Unit, a special force dedicated to saving people who have died tragically across time and space. With their special powers that allow them to rewind time using a device implanted in their right eye, members of this unit attempt to save individuals before they die.
STORY Inc. is producing the Fate Rewinder anime, which joins the Bones studio lineup that includes Gachiakuta, My Hero Academia series, Fullmetal Alchemist, and more.
To commemorate the announcement, Fate Rewinder will be featured on the cover of August issue of Monthly Corocoro Comic. All chapters of the manga will be available to read for free on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic magazine website for the next 72 hours. Additionally, a character popularity ranking poll begins today and ends on August 31 on the official website.
Mangaka Futa will draw a special illustration featuring the top three characters that win. Fans who post on Twitter using "#巻戻士人気投票" hashtag, have a chance to win one of three signed illustrations.
