Dragon Ball Celebrates 40th Anniversary With New Anime and Game Announcements
Dragon Ball Super is getting an anime sequel titled Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. The news was announced at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri (40th-anniversary event) at Makuhari Messe earlier today.

A special video celebrating the milestone anniversary was revealed. It features animation inspired by late Akira Toriyama's illustrations and music by Hans Zimmer. The staff also includes:
- Director: Naoki Miyahara
- CG Director: Kai Makino
- 2D Animation Director: Chikashi Kubota
- Theme: “Infinite Future”
- Arranger:Tom Lucas
- Production: Toei Animation
In addition, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, an enhanced edition of the Dragon Ball Super anime with newly produced and reworked footage, updated visuals and sound, and a reconstructed narrative, will premiere in the Fall 2026 anime season.
The Dragon Ball Super anime aired from 2015 to 2018.

The franchise is also getting a new game project, titled Dragon Ball: AGE 1000.
The DRAGON BALL: Sparking! Zero game is getting a new DLC, which unveiled a teaser video:
Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga began serialization in 1984 in the Weekly Shonen Jump. It was adapted into anime in 1986. Dragon Ball Z is the anime's sequel; it was serialized from 1989 to 1996. Toei Animation animated the adaptation.
