Crunchyroll Acquires Rights for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Movie
Crunchyroll has acquired worldwide rights (excluding Asia) for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: A lonely dragon wants to be loved movie. The movie, which has a runtime of 105 minutes, will be available in Japanese with English subtitles in North America. In Japan, the movie premieres on June 27.

Tatsuya Ishihara is directing the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: The Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved movie at studio Kyoto Animation. He is co-credited with Yasuhiro Takemoto, who directed the first season of the TV anime and died in the 2019 arson attack on the studio. The two shared the credit on the second season, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S, which aired in 2021 for 12 episodes. Miku Kadowaki is doing the character designs and Yuka Yamada is writing the scripts. Masumi Ito is in charge of music, while Sachiko Kobayashi is performing
As previously announced, fhána is performing the opening theme song "Namida no Parade," while Sachiko Kobayashi is doing the ending theme, "Days of Us." Kobayashi will also have a voice acting role in the movie.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is based on a manga written and illustrated by Coolkyousinnjya. The manga has been ongoing since 2013. It was serialized in Futabasha’s Monthly Action magazine until 2024, but after the magazine ceased publication it was moved to Manga Action. Four spin-off titles, Kanna’s Daily Life, Elma’s Office Lady Diary, Lucoa is my xx, and Fafnir the Recluse, were also serialized in Monthly Action and later moved to Web Action.
Crunchyroll is streaming both seasons of the TV anime.
