Iconic Events and Lionsgate are teaming up for this limited release. Tickets are now on sale.

Battle Royale is a 2000 movie, based on the novel of the same title by Koushun Takami, which kicked off the "battle royale" genre we know today. It was the last movie to be directed by Kinji Fukasaku; he would die before completing the Battle Royale II: Requiem sequel. The sequel was an original story.

In the US, the movie had a direct-to-video release in 2010, so this will be the first time that it will screen in cinemas.

The story follows a group of teenagers who end up on an island and have to fight to the death to win and survive.
