AnimeJapan 2026 Recap

AnimeJapan 2026 is behind us, and it might be the last one in Tokyo, as the event is moving to Osaka next year. This year's event took place on March 28-29, and it delivered with a few big-name announcements.

As always, we followed the event live: you can find a quick recap of the titles we haven't covered in standalone articles below. Those that we did cover will be compiled in a list with links below.

Tetsuryo! Meet With Tetsudo Musume

The Tetsudo Mutsume (Railway Girls) multimedia franchise's upcoming anime, Tetsuryo! Meet with Tetsudo Musume revealed a trailer and a key visual.

The main cast includes:

• May Tachibana as Misaki Sada
• Mao Shoji as Kodama Orihara
• Haruna Fukushima as Ushio Yagami
• Hika Tsukishiro as Usa Harutachi

EAST FISH STUDIO is animating the series with Misuzu Hoshino as the director. Tetsuryo anime premieres this fall.

Jujutsu Kaisen

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime recently announced a new season that will cover the remainder of "The Culling Game" arc. Its AnimeJapan 2026 panel was on the slower side, but the franchise did announce that it would be marking the 5th anniversary with a special visual:

Eren the Southpaw

The upcoming Eren the Southpaw anime revealed the preview for the first episode, which is slated to air on April 7, 2026.

Additionally, an exhibit commemorating the anime will be held from April 25.

The Little Shark

The Little Shark (Odekake Kozame) Season 2 revealed a key visual. Shiori Ozawa and Ryota Suzuki are joining the cast.

Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle Part 1 revealed yet another promotional video. The soundtrack for the movie will be available on vinyl.

Kinnikuman

The Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc will be releasing new character songs monthly, starting from July 29.

Sgt. Frog

The upcoming Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou) movie, titled Shin Gekijoban Keroro Gunsou: Fukkatsushite Sokkou Chikyu Metsubou no Kiki de Arimasu!, will be released on June 29 in Japan. Two new characters are joining the movie: Aruru and Deruru:

Expelled from Paradise

The Expelled from Paradise: Resonance from the Heart anime revealed a new key visual and trailer. The anime's sequel premieres on November 13, 2026.

This is the fourth visual and fourth trailer that have been revealed so far.

Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen

The Iwamoto-senpai no Suisen anime by studio DEEN revealed a new trailer. Joining the cast are:

• Akira Ishida as Bokyo Kitsujo
• Masaya Fukunishi as Oni Okuaki
• Takuma Nagatsuka as Shizuma Aonuma

A Certain Item of Dark Side

The upcoming A Certain Item of Dark Side anime announced that Hanna Ishikawa will join the cast as Hanano Chobi.

Ghost Concert: Missing Songs

ENGI's Ghost Concert: Missing Songs anime revealed a preview for Episode 1. The anime premieres on April 5.

Code Geass

The Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture anime is getting a TV broadcast this July. A key visual for it has been revealed:

Let's Go Kaikigumi

The Let's Go Kaikigumi anime revealed the first trailer ahead of the July 5, 2026, broadcast date. Uketsu, Japanese author and YouTube personality, will be performing the ending theme song.

C-Station is animating the adaptation.

Rilakkuma

The upcoming Rilakkuma short anime revealed a preview for Episode 1 and the ending theme song by Lilas Ikuta. Broadcasting in Japan begins on April 4.

The ending theme song is titled "Stay With Me."

Daemons of the Shadow Realm

The Daemons of the Shadow Realm anime revealed six new visuals featuring the main characters. The anime premieres on April 4.
