An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess Introduces Bertia
The previously announced An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess anime revealed a character trailer for Bertia "Tia" Ibil Noches, who is voiced by Miyu Tomita. This is the first of the planned six character trailers that will be released over the upcoming weeks.
Junichi Yamamoto (Maebashi Witches) is directing the anime at studio Ashi Productions. The staff also includes Akiko Inoue on the series composition and Miki Matsumoto on the character designs.
The An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess anime will adapt the series by Shiki, published as a two-volume light novel with Wan Hachipisu's illustrations in 2017, and later adapted to manga with art by Natsume Hasumi. The manga was serialized in AlphaPolis' Regina magazine, where its sequel, An Observation Log of My Wife Who Calls Herself a Villainess, is also currently ongoing. The light novel sequel is also ongoing.
AlphaManga is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Because Prince Cecil is extraordinarily intelligent, life is boring for him. His days are without much excitement, but he becomes engaged to Bertia, the daughter of a marquis. The first thing she says to him when they first meet is quite baffling. She claims she is the "villainous heroine" in the story of his life!! According to Bertia, she has memories of her previous life. In a certain "romance game" she played in her life before, she played the character of the "villainess." Her purpose in her new life is to become an exemplary villainess and ruin the prince's engagement. In order to achieve this goal, Bertia does one outrageous thing after another and brings chaos and confusion into his life. A unique "love" story with a twist!!
Hanashi Media licensed the light novel under the Observation Records of My Fiancée: The Misadventures of a Self-Proclaimed Villainess title.
